Andrew Saar (1913-1990)
 
Incredibly detailed original charcoal drawing of the V&T Engine #4 the "Virginia".
It is shown on the Crown Point trestle based on an early photo. This work is by
Carson City artist Andrew Saar who was well known in this area in the 1970s for
his depictions of historic images. The art is on illustration board with a visible area
of 13 by 19 inches. It was coated with a fixative back in the 1970s when it was created.
It now has a pleasant light tone. Recently reframed with archival materials including
UV guard glass. Many prints of this image have been sold in this area for decades.
