It is said that Caples and friends would meet at
each other's homes to enjoy creativity and good company.
This work comes with long Reno provenance suggesting it
to be one of the items created at such a gathering.  Many of
these types of works were not signed. This one is nicely
initialed in the lower right.
 
It is on a thin "scrap" of plywood measuring approximately
16 by 18 inches.  The condition seems good for what it is
and it will benefit from your clever framing choice.
